WX Helper - Airport
Info
Disclaimer:
DO NOT USE FOR FLIGHT PLANNING PURPOSES - While the data comes from official sources, this helper is not certified for operational use.
Features:
1. Helps with RWY2RWY planning by identifying applicable RWYs based on the winds for the time window:
Departure ETD +1h | Destination ETA ±1 Hour | Alternate ETA ±1 Hour. Only RWYs > 5500ft are considered
2. Displays the visibility and ceiling for the time window. Takes the "Application of forecast" table into account.
If visibility <550 or ceiling <200 the value is highlighted in RED. For Alternate the values are visibility <1350 and ceiling <400.
When the respective visibilities or ceilings are 1.5x the reference value they are highlighted in ORANGE.
WARNING: You must check the actually applicable Visibility / Cloud base from approach plates.
3. The crosswind component is calculated and highlighted when it crosses the threshold of 38kt - RED; 25kt - ORANGE.
Wind gusts are included for the maximum wind/crosswind calculation.
WARNING: The value of 38kt is standard based on DRY conditions. For different RWY conditions thresholds can be different.
